European Remanufacturing Network
With an EU market potential of €90bn by 2030, remanufacturing is set to become an increasingly important aspect of the future manufacturing industry.
Remanufacturing allows companies to strategically position themselves close to their customers whilst delivering economic and environmental savings. ERN helps existing remanufacturers improve their operations and encourages new business to take up remanufacturing.
This website reports the outputs of the European Commission-funded project, European Remanufacturing Network funded under Horizon 2020. Below, you can find links to pages with more information on the project and tools and resources that it generated.
The enduring output of this project is the Conseil Européen de Remanufacture (CER, European Remanufacturing Council). This is a fee-paying consortium of enlightened manufacturers who want to advance the European remanufacturing agenda including addressing the key priorities from the ERN project.
What is remanufacturing and what are the benefits to your business, consumers and the environment?
Remanufacturing is the process of returning a used product to at least its original performance with a warranty that is equivalent to or better than that of the newly manufactured product.
From a customer viewpoint, the remanufactured product can be considered the same as a new product.
